Gmail rolled out support for using Gmail in 6 Indic languages on basic feature phones. So basic model phone users can use the Gmail interface in 6 Indic languages is Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Gujarati. Generally the basic model mobiles show the interface in English only. Most users already using Gmail system in their own language but the feature phones does not support above languages previously.
Now you can communicate and use the Gmail in your own language from your handset browser without any tricks. Here is how you can change your language in Gmail in your basic model feature phones.
• Click on a Gear icon in the top right and select Settings
• Go to Display Language and select your language in the drop down menu.
• Finally click on “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
Now your Gmail interface will be displayed in the selected language in your phone browser. Here is an important point, the display language of Gmail does not affect the language of your mails which are sent or received.
