Instagram is an online photo sharing social site has launched official app for Windows Phone 8 devices. The app is much awaited one for Windows Phones for long time, after the launch of Android and iOS apps. Vine is the popular social network based on videos has launched the official application for Windows Phones. Vine was acquired by Twitter and launched the feature of capture short looping videos in 6-seconds. And you can share the 6-seconds videos instantly on social networking sites. Already Android and iOS versions of this app available, so Windows Phone users were used another third party app named 6sec.

Vine for Windows Phone app is similar to Android and iOS versions. You can just tap and hold screen to capture new videos. There are different camera tools available to customize the video quality and you can use your front facing camera to take videos. mPassport Seva Mobile App to get Passport information from Smartphones

The Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India has launched the mPassport Seva mobile app for all smartphones. It is already released for Android mobiles, now it is also available for iPhone and Windows Phone devices. mPassport Seva app allows Indian citizens to access passport related information from their smartphones.

The application lets you track the status, locating a Passport office and general information on various steps involved in obtaining a passport. Users can search for near Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or District Passport Cell (DPC) in a district and also search through Pin codes. Users can search for Police stations too. There is an option to track your status of the application by providing File number and date of birth.

This is one of the largest projects of the Government of India under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) being executed in public-private-partnership mode with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the private partner. The feature to applying a new passport from your smartphone will be updated in the coming months.

Indian Railway Catering Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its mobile application for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices. IRCTC website is the biggest e-commerce site in India and it is always in huge traffic, so getting tickets in IRCTC is very hard process for users. Recently they upgraded the site with high capacity server to handle 4.15 lakh tickets per day.

The app lets you to book train ticket and offers services such as PNR enquiry, train schedules and routes, ticket availability, cancellation and history also. Before the launch of these apps, you can only book the tickets on mobiles through their mobile site (m.irctc.co.in) but it has also some problems to work. The app built with Metro user interface so it looks good and easy to use.

Nokia released a new app called Lumia Storage Check beta for Lumia Windows 8 smartphones which helps you to manage your phone storage. Nokia Lumia phone comes with free 7 GB storage of SkyDrive online account and on-board memory also. With this app, you can view the detailed breakup of the phone memory usage including what type of data using that memory.

You can see the overview of the storage as a wheel type illustration divided into apps, media and files, system and free space. If you want more detailed view, swipe right will bring the details panel. There you can see exact storage taken by each app such as your emails, music, photos, office documents and etc. There is an option to clear to temporary files with one tap. Also you can remove your apps too by pressing long tap and uninstall from the apps list.

There is a new feature you can manage your Nokia Maps data also. Generally Maps are stored offline in your phone that takes huge memory of the storage. With this feature, you can now store them on external SD card too and your phone memory gets some more storage.
